Fun to hear people giving pocket camera's to their relatives which they will end up using themselves mostly.

A few years back my significant other gave me a coffee maker.

I don't like coffee. (Guess who actually used it.)

No gear - but gave away several framed prints (taken with my 5D2 so I say it counts...)

Same. S95 for the GF, fair exchange for track skins for my Daytona 675 ^_^

In my one day of using it...it's no 5D...or rebel for that matter...but it's pretty damn fun wide open at close range.

Same as Robert. S95 for the wife for the exact same reasons.

This is the first small camera I've purchased and we're both quite pleased with the picture quality.

Happy Hoildays to everyone.

S95 for my wife. Manual functions for when I want to play. Great auto functions for her.

I think I'm seeing a pattern here. Almost:

got sick of my wife using my 35L... it just scares me to see her handle my L glasses... so bought her 50mm 1.8 II. best 100 bucks I've spent in long long time.

so technically, it was for me.. Im now a much happier man since she has her own prime glass.

Gave an Elph 500 to my daughter and some leftover lens from my Canon DSLR and film days to my nephew (50 1.8 II, 28-105 and my 22-55 + 55-250 combo I had with my IX-Lite).

Does this count?
I gave framed photos to a needy family of their "Christmas shoot session" I did for them.
Shot with 5DMkII, (2) 580EXII , 24-105/4.
Printed from my 9000MkII.
Oh, and I actually used Canon paper, it worked out really good!
Is that enough Canon gear to "qualify"? *8^)

The family were excited during the photo shoot, and really love the results.
For me, giving makes for a great and happy feeling.
