p.10 #1 · What Canon gear did you get for Christmas
I got a Canon motor drive of a slightly different sort...my significant other bought me an AE Motor Drive FN for my Canon F-1N, one of my all-time favorite cameras that of late has ridden in the camera bag along with my 7D. With the motor drive on it's a beast of a camera, but an awful lot of fun to use. Just prior to Christmas, I bought myself an early present in the form of a Canon FP with an FL 50/1.4. Enjoying old-school Canon along with my EOS gear!

Very tempting I saw a Like New Pentax 645 D MF for 35% off regular, very tempting, thankfully after several days of seeing it someone else saved me by buying it.
Though I broke down and upgraded my Adobe Master Collection. I was going to wait until CS6 but they are changing their upgrade rules when CS6 comes out to allow upgrades only from the previous version,.... at least they gave 20% off.

I picked up a gently used 17-35 f/2.8L off of here and I got a thinkTANK Retrospectivve 10 from the store in Kansas City. Loving them both equally!

It is still early days for me with the 70-200 2.8. I have the f4 IS also and tend to carry it more often because of the weight.
I'd be curious to hear what you think when you get a chance to use it. I wonder if you will keep the F/4 version? I had the 70-200 F/4 (non IS), it was one of my first lens purchases. Darn L glass - that 70-200 is the gateway drug relatively cheap for an L lens, but so darn sharp nothing but the best will do from that point forward! I sold it last year becasue I picked up the 135L and wanted to shoot with it so much the 70-200 just sat at home Thought someone else should get some use out of it. I've been tempted by the new 70-200 MKII, but just not sure if I would use it as much as the 135L.

Even though money is somewhat tight at the moment, I couldn't resist the 5DII in the Amazon gold box for $1,900. I have been yearning to go full frame for years but couldn't really afford it. Of course now I only have a 50mm 1.8, 85mm 1.8 and 70-200L 4 IS for it, nothing on the wide end. Can't use my beloved EF-S 10-22 and 15-85. Will have to get a 24-105 or similar at some point I guess. Oh, and the wife surprised me with a S100! I did pretty good I guess.

Nice Christmas for you!
I worked 108 hours in two weeks before the holidays, so I figured I kind of deserved it. Working on a 70-200 2.8L now, hopefully will have that before February so I can get some basketball done.

No new camera gear for Xmas, but I did buy a 1.4x TC III a few weeks before Xmas. My Xmas present was to get to use the 500L for birding while on holidays.

Very nice! I mentioned in my first post that I have most everything I want. The 14L is the only lens i'm really wondering about Seems like it would be a nice addition to the camera bag. I almost hate to ask if you like it I bet you get some amazing shots with that lens!
