35L + 85L II is an incredible combo on FF. Add in a Sigma 50 for those times you need something in between, and you're set.
In fact, throw in the 17-40L, and that's my entire lens kit.
Well, the Sigma 50/1.4 is up next and there's a good chance the 17-40 will end up in my bag soon enough. I never really shoot wide angle, but it's needed every once in a while.

I had the 24L II to pair up with the 50L. It wasn't for me. I got the 35L which is great. I find I'm using the 35L indoors and 50L outdoors and I love both lenses.

Depends on what you want to shoot and how you go about it. Personally I would go with the 35L and 85L combo. But I am a portrait / wedding photographer mostly.

I love 35 L and 85 L combo on full frame. Even for environmental portraits, I would find 24 too wide. But I do find 35 to be a perfect FL for small groups and indoor low light settings for everything from a bride getting ready/reception halls to my kids opening gifts on Christmas morning.

I have a 5D mkII on the way and now I'm deciding on lenses.
I'm leaning towards the 35 & 85 because I actually shot this set up on the 5Dc and quite liked it.
However, I'm hesitant to pick up the 35/1.4 due to all the rumours of a new version coming out soon.
I don't have the budget to pick up the 24II & the 85II. I shoot mainly environmental portraits and shows.

lens selection is a personal choice depending on your specific needs.
I like this combo with the 5D II:
Zeiss 18mm F3.5
Canon 35mm F1.4
Sigma 85mm F1.4
Another very nice lens would be the new Zeiss 25mm F2
I actually would really like to try some of the ZE lenses on the 5DII, especially the 100 Makro & the 25mm f2. Now that I've got the 35/1.4L & the 85/1.2II, I think I'm going to start looking for a decent 50L (or maybe Zeiss??) and the ZE 25/2.

I have all four lenses as well, and I use 35 and 85 the most because of my acquaintance with them. 50L is better for cake cutting than 85L however...and 24L gets more in the shot than 35L for cake cutting too...so I will often have 24/50 or 35/50 for cake cutting and 35/85 for most of the rest of a day.
