My B&H 5D II arrived in brand new condition. Its not a refurb in white box. It has 1 year warranty card included with matching numbers on the colorful box. Its the real deal as is ths Sandisk, etc. B&H is the only place I buy new camera gear from now.
That said, I see via Canonpricewatch that Adorama has better prices on several eos lenses, like 8-15mm f4L $1,349 versus B&H $1,429. If B&H would price match Adorama I'd buy the fisheye zoom for after the Holidays. If not, no biggie, I'll wait.
I am eager to see how 5D III & D800 flesh out and was happily waiting till this $1999 5D II Holiday Special hit 8 days ago. The bundled offer was just too tempting! I'm glad I got one before cashing out of my Canon Eos kit to go all Nikon. Ever since I bought my B&H D700 & 14-24mm 2.8 ED Nano Coat almost 3 years ago now, I'm quite hessitant to buy anymore brand new Canon gear.
I'm guessing we'll see a D800 with great HD video before we see a 5D Series with D700 AF announced. The last three years I built out my Nikon glass with "used" Mint e-bay purchases. Manual focus Ai, AiS glass is so much more fun to use on D700 than adapting it all to Eos. Nikon's 200-400mm f4 VRII is compelling, and is another lens I'd buy brand new if I owned just one brand & Canon does not offer it either. Yeah, I've seen the Canon patents of it & 14-24mm L but they don't exist or pre-priced yet.

that deal from BH are you sure it is not USED or refurbished product? I can't see this in new section.
Use the link. It IS for a new 5DMkII not used, not refurb'd. I bought one last week and love it. I ordered it over the phone and had to give the guy the B&H item number so he knew what I was talking about. I even got free 2nd day UPS delivery! Awesome job B&H!
I have to say, so far I really enjoy this camera. I haven't really had a chance to get out and shoot as much as I want (yet), but so far this camera exceeds my expectations. The low light results are just amazing!

This deal and the other link with the $1974 70-200 2.8 ll both still work by the way.
Just ordered this morning.
Where is the link for the 70-200 2.8L Mark 2 version? At that price, especially assuming I sell my 70-200 2.8L non-IS to cover part of the cost, I don't think I could pass that up!
My camera came yesterday! Great deal fast free shipping/ Camera is great USA warranty all good. I am a Nikon shooter using for video. They must have a truck load of these.
Other Adorama lenses went up past couple days too thus the Canon EOS Holiday Shoppertunities are history.
I'll fondly look back on my $1999 5DII bundle when prices reset to full msrp, again.
$2,000 full frame is such a great entry price point. Locally without the included swag 5DII sat at $2,399.
I wondered with the continually weak US Dollar versus the Yen if we'd see Canon full frame at $2000 or less again.
I convinced a couple of my Canon crop format buddies to get one too.
Good Times
UPDATE:
The bonus $100 Sandisk Pro 16gb card was deleted from the 5DII Holiday bundle this morning.
I'll just pop in here and mention that for association members, the discounted price is still (for now!) deeply discounted for the bundle. If you want a steal, get stealing while the stealing is still good. I assume B&H will adjust the association prices as well in short order.
I got one of these also..The memory card alone is 100 bucks. The small Lowepro bag is nice when you want to carry the 5D2 gripped with the 24/105L attached and lets say a 17/40 with it. In 2006 I bought a 5Dc for 2500 bucks new from BH. The present deal is a killer deal if you have the bucks jump all over it..Bruce
Showing up as $2,099.95 for me. But still...must resist. I am in the market for a new camera body but was thinking I'd make the jump to full frame by buying a 5dc rather than the mkII and save myself over $1k. Is the mkII worth the extra money for a guy who likes to snap some pics on the weekends?
Adorama has a similar package including the body, 50mm f/1.8 II, 16Gb Sandisk card, extra Canon battery, sling bag, and a software bundle for $2,099 shipped.
If you do a reload on your browser, both the B&H and Adorama deals have changed. The B&H price went up and lost the Sandisk card while the Adorama price jumped. At least that's what I see.
I was going to skip the 5D II....but I succumbed to the deal while it was still priced so low.
Adorama's is still available at $2,099 as of this morning. In their search box, enter ICA5DM2E and on the checkout screen enter the discount code S1234567.
These companies must be hurting for sales if they are having to discount their cameras that much. It doesn't speak volumes for the state of the economy.
I would imagine there is some form of an incentive from the manufacture to get excess stock pushed through prior to a new camera release. Perhaps a rebate of sorts to dealers. I know nothing of these matters but usually big price decrease is just to make room for something new.
Given the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS Mark II was released less than 2 years ago, and given how rarely Canon and Nikon update their premier lenses, it is highly unlikely they're making room for a new version. They always do some promotions around the end of the year, though, so it's not like this is unexpected or anything. Sure, the rebates are a bit bigger than usual, but only by $100-200 or so.
