p.1 #1 · how do you protect your photo

Well I would like to copyright or digitally protect my photos what software do you need to do this ?
Now if you have your pic watermarked is that legally sound from keeping someone else’s hands off or can they still use it?
Best watermark software to use ?

Might help if you tell us what you're trying to "protect" your images from or how you're using them that is causing you to ask about extra protection.

If you're posting images online there is no software that's going to protect you. None. Post them online and someone, somehow can get them. Period. End of discussion. If that's a major concern for you then I would suggest not posting anything online.

For things I post online I generally resize to 600px on the longest side and add a "© {year} Scott Sewell" to them at the bottom somewhere. I use LR to do this when I'm batching a large amount of images. If it's a small set (maybe something for here or sportsshooter) I'll just use a brush in PS and stamp them on each image.

I would also suggeting registering your images with the U.S. Copyright office.
