That is one grungy looking Christmas tree. It might be nice to see it seperated from a background. Here it kind of blends in and doesn't have the impact it could.

Thanks I agree. It started raining so I kind of settled. Any ideas for other backgrounds for a do over?

It might be cool to find a Christmas light display to use as the background and then put your grunge tree in the foreground with a light shining on it (flashlight) and take the shot very close to your tree so the background is blurred a fair amount but still recognizable. Just thinking out loud, but the contrast of pretty and grunge would pull out the theme. If you had a small bathroom size trash can it could be made to look grunge then you could have the grunge tree hanging out of that too?

Thanks Mark, shot it against our indoor tree looks much better. Still hard to make it standout from any background due to the metal frame.

Yeah, I like this one a lot. That's exactly what I was thinking of. Even though an even more blurred BG might help separation I think this version works with the circles of light almost mimicking the grunge tree ornaments.

The new backround you have chosen works well with the old Xmas tree.

The ghost of Christmas past - I like it.
