It wasn't quite that bad, but these rigs certainly aren't cheap, that's for sure!

Rainer, I got my D7K for photos. I have a Sony Z7 for video. You said you had shot some surface video with you D7K. I shot some test footage the other evening at ISO 800 and I was disappointed with the excessive grain. My ISO 800 photos don't have that much grain. Have you shot video at ISO 800? If so, what did yours look like?

Really enjoyed your vid...

Glad you liked it.

I hear you about the extra grain at higher ISOs. That said, I've been decently impressed with the video (but I do agree, it *is* worse than the stills).

Take a look at the first half of this video (nighttime) I shot earlier this year on the D7000:

ISO ranges from 1600 to 6400. Overall, I was happy with it. The cemetery was really quite dark and most of the footage was usable. Could it be cleaner? Certainly.

The fisheye is a bit disorienting when panning but the shots look great. Nice and clear.

One reason I'd like to try shooting a bit more at 17mm. Much less distortion at that focal length.

Still, the wide view *is* nice. Just need to pan less.

I liked this video too. Man, I am seeing a lot more grain in mine at 800 ISO than I see in yours at 1600 - 6400. I am a little disappointed in what I see in mine. But to be honest, I watched them on different monitors. So I need to give it a fair test.

Thanks. No real post-processing on any of these, so odd you seem to be seeing more grain at lower ISOs. Might be worth checking into. Best of luck!

Nice video! Amazed by how steady and fluid the video progression is!
