I hope you both like it. The x10 is at the top of my list right now, even though the 5n is probably a great camera.
There are many helpful suggestions for add on accessories in the Amazon reviews. Worth checking out if you think she (you ) will use them.

Hmm.. your wife wanted something with good image quality and pink - so you chose or a low-IQ small sensor, large form factor camera that has a budget retro styling that might only appeal to photo nerds and that only comes in black..

"low-IQ small sensor"? which camera would that be? The x10 sensor is smaller than the nex sensor, but IQ is superb.....
I might also add the x10/x100 cameras are sexy. The Nex? They look like a cheap Sony radio with a too big lens globbed on to the front.
