p.1 #1 · Paypal

Curious for some peoples thoughts on this that might know more about it and might of had similar situations.

I'm having an issue with Paypal where it won't let me send payments instantly over a certain amount apparently. I called Paypal up and the guy said that Paypal will normally front the amount if you have a credit card on the account and the funds in your bank account, but not on your actual Paypal account. Which is the situation in my case. I attempted to send an amount to someone, but the guy working for Paypal said it wouldn't let me send it because it was a large amount, and that Paypal's automated system blocked it from being able to send instantly in case for some reason the deal went bad they'd be stuck with the bill. That's no longer an issue and have resolved another payment method though, just explaining the situation. He said it should be fine on smaller amounts. So I attempted to send $570 to another member on here and it worked fine. Payment was sent instantly. However I then tried to send $670 to another member and it didn't work and would only allow eCheck or credit card. Seems kind of ridiculous.

Anyone know if I wait maybe a few hours or a day or so, that it might allow me to send the $670 to this member instantly?

Spencer,

I had virtually the same, exact kind of transaction with PP on an eBay listing several months ago. I got the same bullshite from them. Pissed me off because I had bought the item in good faith on a Buy It Now and the seller thought I was backing out on the deal. When I copied him emails and copies of chats with eBay/PP, he relented, but he had to wait 5 days or so to relist the item. I have had no further transactions via eBay/PP. The only way I could get the hold removed was to give the seller good feedback on an item I had not yet received. What an utter crock of shite.

Yeah, it's quite a pain. It worked out in the end. Found out credit card essentially works the same way, it just puts the bill on your credit card rather then withdrawing it from your bank account. Still a pain though.
