I have a family vacation (wife and 2 kids) to Cancun coming in a few weeks. Normal tourist stuff planned (Isla Mujeres, Chichen Itza,...) probably at midday
But I like to try and get out in the morning (while they're asleep) and maybe catch sunrise or wildlife or some non-tourist images. Anyone have any suggestions of places to go?
As soon as you get to Cancun, it's paradise. You don't see danger anywhere. I'm from Sao Paulo, Brazil and I know danger when I see it. As soon as you leave Cancun you start seeing potential problems. I would advise on always taking a turist bus when adventuring outside Cancun. Inside the city is fine.
You will find lots of opportunites shooting from inside your resort.

Cancun is beautiful, but has been invaded by corporations like Hard Rock Cafe and others, giving a sense that you haven't left the US yet. Point your lens away from that stuff and capture the flora and water scenes.
