p.1 #1 · Problem with 5d Mark II with 580 EXII

I have a 5D Mark II with 580 EX II Mounted on it.
At almost end on my wedding shoot the flash stops firing. I though may be the battery ran out or may be the flash got hot etc. I used my second body 7d and the same flash works ok. Lucky I have another 580 Ex II and tried it on my 5D Mark II and still not firing. I tried cleaning the connectors still no luck. Then I tried to use my Mini TT1 still no luck. I restet all the setting on the camera thinking may be i accidentally disabled the flash or something but still no luck. Both flashed are fine because they are firing when I press the pilot light.

Please let me know should I send my camera to canon or try out some other things before that. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Get one of those eyeglass repair kits and pry off the top cover from the bottom part of the mount. The screws underneath the cover may be loose and that could be the cause of your problems. There is a post that describes how to do it. If I can find it, I'll post the link. The whole process should take no more that 1 min.

I had a very similar problem pop up on my once and then it seemed to magically fix itself, this was about a month ago. Please do post if you find the problem. I am still hoping it does not pop back up on me.
