p.1 #1 · Stars During Full Moon

Tried some night work for the first time in about 20 years.

Full moon last night. This is a composite of two exposures, one around 5 minutes to illuminate the terrestrial and one around 30 seconds to try and capture the celestial sky without incurring excessive star trails.

Shot on Oly 18/3.5 f8, ISO 200 and f5.6, ISO 800 ... iirc

Thanks Bob,

It was an amazingly still night that even with a 5 minute exposure, the detail in the branches is still there (without any flash).

This was down at Garden of the Gods in Shawnee National Forest. I might have another one to work up as well.
