Totally diggin' the colors, but not the silhouette. It seems to be a pure color play only without much visual interest for me. Very nice, striking & dynamic with lots of crayons (usually up my alley), but it gets tired very quickly for me ... "Pretty oranges, pretty blues, black rocks, pretty reds ... okay I'm done." It comes across to me as one you look at, not one you journey through or linger on to study. Could be a tough palette to work with as well.
I"m not much help on this one ... the others will likely feel differently ... and probably have some good ideas as usual. I did apply a heavy warming filter to change the overall mood to warm, kicking the blue to the curb, but it needed more work than I felt it was worth right now ... deferring to the others first.
Kent,
Thanks for the open, direct feedback. I agree that it is missing an extra element or more that might sustain more interest. So the question becomes, does an image like this fit in in a broader context? As an accent piece? Or just doesnt do enough.
Couldnt resist the colors. The sunrise was not as good as pre-dawn.
Well, imo ... it does NOT belong in the recycle bin ... that's for sure. I do dig it ... and others will too.
What/where to go with it, hmmm ... maybe a FREAKIN' HUGE print in a corporate lobby at the entrance to the Sears Tower where people are going by without stopping to study it and it'll hit with the "made ya look" ... and they can go WOW !!! and keep moving without it requiring a 'deep study' to appreciate its excellence.
I don't see it over the couch or fireplace or anywhere that you see it EVERYDAY. OTOH, the graphic appeal and the silhoutte could have some copy (text) appeal as well. I don't suppose you happen to have another shot to blend/replace the foreground with. Likely lots of uses ... just have to think a bit differently than what we (I) typically do.
Of course, understand that this is MY opinion relative to MY taste. Someone else might like to sit and stare at it for hours, basking in its radiance.
