Upload & Sell: Off
p.1 #1 · pricing reference

Hello,
I am new to FM.com and was curious if anyone could suggest a reliable and honest source for price listing for used camera equipment.

I would like to post some equipment for sale but need a genuine source for pricing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

You can try KEH to get ballpark figures, they're a bit on the high side but well respected.
You'll also need some references, good descriptions/pics, and a B&S subscription to turn gear here. GL

I generally look at both Ebay and the B&S here to determine "fair market value". Ebay is a pain and has lots of fees, so the prices are correspondingly higher. Then I figure out from there what price to use.

I compare the B&S here and on Naturescapes.net then set my price.

while their database is limited, in addition to what Mr. Monkey, Rodolfo and mdbassman are referencing, you may also want to give www.worthmonkey.com a try.

Don't know how far you want to go back to compare but B&S and Naturescpes.net go at least a year.
With the economies of all countries in wild dissary, imho a year will give you a very fair guestimate on a selling price.

I'd suggest that going back too far is also not productive. Market conditions change, prices change, and you need to stay within a window of relevance. Right now, I wouldn't use anything for reference that's earlier than April, because that's when the current market conditions started really taking effect after the tsunami in Japan. Before March or April, it was a whole 'nuther market.
