Has anyone seen his show? I watched one and I have never seen photography like it, it is so non artistic, it sucks. the worst part is they just replaced Art Wolfe's Travels to the edge with this.

So I want to hear what everyone has to say about him. If you have not seen him then just go on Youtube.com and you will find him.

This probably should be posted in the Wildlife forum. He is a wildlife photographer. I don't see why his stuff should be artistic. If you look at the wildlife forum here you will see that most of the pictures taken are non artistic. It's wildlife. I think the beauty of birds and other wildlife speaks for itself and doesn't have to be artsy. Maybe I'm taking your artistic veiw to mean something else.

This wildlife photographer seems to have the same opinion:

Nice read but when I looked at his photos none of them were what he was talking about. Kind of looked like most of the photos in the wildlife forum.

Are JJuLLiAAn's photos any better than Doug's? Oh, we haven't seen any yet.

I think that I am more used to seeing Art Wolfe's images. Because he really knows how to get good images.

I actually tried to make it clear in that article that I came to the conclusion that I, in my own photography, had been guilty of doing just what I am critical of in that article. I realized that I was taking the same pictures over and over again and that those pictures were the same ones that everyone else is taking every day. Further, I realized that those pictures lacked creativity and imagination, and I realized that a significant factor leading to that lack of creativity and imagination was falling in love with using too much focal length and always shooting tight.

I also explained that what I am doing now is trying to change my approach to shooting, and a big part of that change is shooting wider. As I said in the article, this change in approach is very much a work in progress, and I have a long way to go before I will be where I want to be. Most of the pictures on my site are pictures taken over a period of years before I decided to work on making this change in my approach. I'd like to think that the pictures that I've taken more recently reflect, at least, a move in the direction toward which I'd like to go.
