Xavier: I'd probably skip the Beercan on the A900. While my copy does very well on film it's not as good on digital. The NEX-7 is well past its capabilities while the A700 takes a little care to get it performing alright. I'm actually selling mine due to this. I'll probably replace it with either the 70-300G or a 200/2.8 G.
Firstly, a question to 35/1.4 users. Does anyone experience AF inaccuracies in lower light? Not the dead of night, just lowlight... like indoors during a cloudy day. It is odd. Where my 85/1.4 will nail it, bang on, the 35/1.4 often seems to back focus. This isn't even completely wide open, say 1.7 to 2.2. Yet when I test it in daylight, it comes out fine. It just seems weird is all, given that I have my 85/1.4 alongside and it nails it, but the 35/1.4 doesn't. The 35 is on the a850, 85 on a900, so both perform equally, central AF only. I need to do more testing, but I just thought I'd throw it out there, see if anyone else has this issue.
One from a couple of weekends ago. I have a massive backlog, seeing as they asked me to do double the hours in the end, and personal things coming up last weekend have meant I've put work aside for a while. But it's breathing down my neck now, so I returned to it today, but it's been a bit overwhelming :S. Anyway...
It's not focus shift, as it's there at 1.4... but I'm usually able to stop it down more. Similarly, as I say, fine in daylight, so micro adjust wouldn't solve the problem... just perplexed by it really.
I've only had it since December, but really like it alongside the 85/1.4, a great pair.

not that i've noticed. i can check tomorrow though. here's a question. i had my 35/1.4 serviced and afterwards i was checking it, i shot a dark subject that was back lit from the afternoon sky and thought i saw central sensor reflection similar to minolta 50s. i''ve had my minolta since 2008 and have never seen it once before. have you ever experienced it on yours?
Were you using any filter of sorts, or shooting backlit against a very dark subject? I think in extreme situations, any lens can show a little here or there. The 50/1.4 is awful in that regard though, one of the main reasons I hardly use it. I've had the 35/1.4 since the beginning of Dec 2011, and I do backlight subjects quite often, and can't say I've noticed any of this purple-glare-blob.
Was it just a standard CLA, or did they replace some sort of element ? Mine is the Sony version, so the coatings might be slightly different, I'm unsure, so perhaps not entirely valid... I'd do some more tests, it might have just been an extreme scenario that brought it about.
