No pics, but the 24 ML remains a good purchase, if not a transcendent performer. Center is sharp, but the far corners go off a cliff. Key advantage over Distagons is the lack of linear distortion. Bokeh is good (if you can generate some). The size and ergos are superb: http://patternassociates.com/rico/photo/misc/fx150a.jpg
I see that this thread is kinda dying, so I'm gonna try some CPR and mouth-to-mouth.
I recently got a bag full of goodies from a friend of mine who, for the grand total of five Canadian dollar (thats like 6 dollars US) found a Yashica 50mm f2 ML, and a Tokina 28mm F2.8 RMC and 80-200mm f4.5 in C/Y mount.
Thoughts........the 50mm F2 is a DREAM. I have put my Helios 44M-6 to the side, and this Yashica is the one now spending a lot of time on my 7D. I generally use LiveView to focus, but there is a POP in the viewfinder when using this lens, and you know you have nailed the focus. When I say POP, I also mean its got the "Zeiss'ish" 3-D POP happening too - don't flame me, all you Zeiss dudes reading this. I know its not cool to compare a 5 dollar Thrift Store Yashica to a Zeiss, but hey.......and then there is the Helios-ish 'Swirly Bokeh' thingy when shot wide open, in fact this Yashica 50mm is MORE swirlios than my Helios.
Oh ya, and its RAZOR sharp at f8......
I'm pretty happy with my Yashica ML 75-150mm f/4, mounted on my Canon 7D. Even on very busy subjects, it's got some of the creamiest bokeh of any of my lenses.
