Nice images from K-5 indeed.
I am still on the fence, ready to jump over to K-5 early this year, but the issue with the stain and shutter keep coming every back now & then at Pentaxforum site that keep me from falling over I still shoot with my 5D and waiting for a 2nd generation of K-5 , or may be when the price drop below $1,200...please keep the pictures coming. TFS
If there's anything I've learned at PentaxForums in the course of my five-year tenure there, it's that there's always something for those people to complain about (often sight-unseen).
My first K-5 did have the sensor stain issue, but I sent it in for service and got a brand new body (perfect) in 2 weeks. I was pretty happy with that. No shutter issues, though.
it took me 2.5 months, the first month was getting them to admit that it had the problem and then the rest to actually have a body without the problem to send me.

I switched from Canon to Pentax just 3 months ago. Apart from K5's sensor and its ability to handle high ISO plus possibly Pentax FA Ltd lenses, I don't like K5 as compared to my previous Canons (40D n 5D). Using manual lenses apart from the A, all the rest is a pain to use. I am still searching for a proper focusing screen like the Canon # S. I have tried a few split screens and they are totally useless indoor or bright sunshine. And I have to contend with a ton of metering problems when I change the focusing screen, unlike Canon.
Links to Pentax prices posted above incase anyone thinks these are low cost lenses.
Most Pentax Limiteds are not weathersealed, neither is their "Pro" flash, AF-540 FGZ.
Something else to consider when buying into today's WeatherResistent Pentax K-5 System.

Maybe the title of a thread is something to consider before launching into an inappropriate diatribe. You're allowed to start your own People Pronouncing Possible Pentax Purple Peculiarity thread, no need to hijack an image thread.
those K-5 images are soft?? Is that a general characteristic of the K-5 or unique to some copies? Also, if I may, even on Pentaxforums, no never mind here on FM, I rarely see a K-5 offered for sale? So, either nobody is buying any, or, most everybody is a satisfied customer.

Which ones are soft? I find mine to be quite sharp with the right glass.
As for resale, I think most people are holding onto them once they got the stains fixed. It's a damn good camera with a few quirks.
