Thanks Bob! I think I prefer the second one, but the first seems to have some of this spatial feel that this lens is famous for.

EXIF says it is... Could there be an error? I know, it doesn't look it. The ZF version does render differently than the Contax version though...

Could it be that the super resolution of the D800 is fooling us here? I think DOF increases with the same lens used on a Canon 5D (12MP) compared to 5D2 (double that) shown websize.

Wilhelm, I am not sure. Why not the second shot then? It could have something to do with the angle of the subject and the camera as well. The area below might be more tilted w.r.t. the camera than it looks.

Otherwise, I think resolution might increase apparent DOF, but it has more to do with resizing method than resolution itself.

carsten - Those are gorgeous shots. #1 is great, but I like the #2 more. Only thing with #2 is I searched the focus point, not that it matters. Those suitcases, what are they ?

The focus is on the left handle. In hindsight, I should have stopped down 1 or 2 stops to get more of the cart in focus. The suitcases are part of the train exhibition at the Technikmuseum Berlin.
