Lovely series of captures- Intereresting bug -first reaction was a beetle of some kind but can't make out whether it has complete wing covers on the back.
2nd guess would be a sawfly.

No idea what kinda critter that is, but these are all excellent exposures. Wonderful control of the light and very, very good detail. Nicely done, mate.
These are lovely shots of a wedge-shaped beetle, family Ripiphoridae. See, for instance, Wikipedia--Rhipiphoridae, or BugGuide (North American species). They have a (for beetles) unusual parasitic lifestyle and the adults are said to be short-lived, so not seen very frequently.
