bought a new Lowel ID Light NiMH Kit and the battery does not seem to run more than 10 mins before it runs out of power? and its it at full charge ( i think...)
the first 2 mins, it will run full power, then it will dim down as it gradually goes out of power in about 10 mins.
is this battery defective? or this is normal.. on the website, it says it can go 30 mins on 100watt power.
the battery is NMH54XLRNC Nickel Metal Hydride 12 volt 4.5 amp Hour
also.. it says it should take 14 hours for the battery to reach full charge, but mine only charges about 1 hour before the green light starts blinking.. which means it is full charge, supposely...
well, either the battery is defective and not taking the charge or the charger is flawed and is 'false peaking' which is telling it to shut off prematurely.
if you have an accurate DC voltmeter, measure the pack voltage after the charger declares the battery 'full'. This should be accurate as I doubt the pack has any sort of voltage regulation.
Try to charge and use the Lowel ID Light until battery is drained, then recharge over night. Do this a couple of time and it should gradually become better.
I have the same combo and mine runs about 30 minutes before the battery is in trouble..
