Hi all. I am struggling to identify some subjects of my photos from a Florida trip earlier this year. I have spent many hours searching this forum, various galleries and doing google image searches. I think I am going cross-eyed already, so any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. I seem to have the most trouble with sillouettes and 'youngsters'.
If anybody knows of a great site(s) for identification of birds, butterflies and or flowers, please let me know!
That's what I want to do, but I seem to have a problem. I am not an Image Upload subscriber and the right click on an image is disabled on my web site (so I can't get the actual jpeg URL). So how do I upload the actual image instead of just a link?
you need to upload your pictures to something like www.photobucket.com After you upload put your mouse over top of the picture and you will see a bunch of choices come up, highlight and copy the one called "direct link". Then on this website paste that into your text box. The photo will appear when you actual post.
As for the birds these are all pretty common and easy to ID birds. Next time you're out just bring a bird book with you (I suggest National Geographic field guide, but they are all good). It's a lot more fun when you can ID what you're looking at. There are some tricky birds though so don't be afraid to ask, but do your best with the book first!
If I lived in Florida I would definitely invest in a book. Regrettably I live several thousand kilometers northwest of there, so I wouldn't get much use of the book (at least not until I retire ). So for now I will just have to envy the photographers who live in or around Florida. It is such an amazing place to photograph.
Under the circumstances, any chance you could help out with the identification?
