p.1 #1 · reading by window light

Trying to use natural light more lately (and start posting on FM instead of just reading). Here's my latest attempt. any suggestions? simple setup: silver reflector cam right, foam core behind him to lift some shadows.

Not sure if it is your pp or if the picture is a tad under exposed but I think it could use a little more punch. I think it is a great shot though. I like the setup shot thanks for sharing. If your could expose your subject like you did the set up shot I thinks you will have a real winner.

with a little extra burning and cropping I believe you have a wonderful shot.
I love the expression and the moment that you captured.

Very nice. Did you do any without the foam core on the bed. I just like shots with more contrast. B&W might be interesting.

I did do some without the foam core. the difference is very subtle. Also did do I BW conversion. not sure I prefer it to the slightly desatuarated color one posted. its on my www. i may just of rushed the conversion, not sure. use channel mixer to convert (CS1) nothing was really exciting me.

Hi,

What a NICE photo!

I like it very much.

Just my cup of tea.

I also think a BW treatment would be my preference over the desaturated look here. I went to your site and saw your BW conversion. I think it could look much nicer with a different conversion approach.

This a very nice image by composition, action, subject and light too.

Don't let the conversion get you.

Work with it some.

I see great potential.

Steady

Thanks for the comments. BW was the intention when shooting it then I was happier with the color. I'll have to revisit it in a day or so and see what I can do.

Suggestions? Yes.

Don't make the shadows on his face darker through your BW conversion method.

Keep working on it. It is a "precious" (wonderful, beautiful) moment. Worth more effort in PP.
