Your getting some great shots from these old piers Scott. I was wondering how the straight B&W looked with all those lovely dark tones in the foreground.

Can we get a shot from the end of the pier Scott ?
Did you just ask me to take a relatively long walk off a pier?
Along the Hudson, on the NJ side, are condo developments several blocks deep and several stories high. Actually quite nice places. Each ends in a road running to the water and has some decorative elements. Some end in cul de sacs with fountains and pillars. Then, along the waterfront, runs a wide paved walkway of several miles length or more, offering views of the rotting piers and Manhattan beyond. Separating the walkway from the water and piers are heavy steel green railings preventing access to the treacherous piers.
I like everything about this shot, with the exception of the two bright spots reflecting off of/coming through the buildings. They distract more than they enhance, in my opinion. Of course, just a personal taste thing.
Tim, I'm more mixed about the bright spot on the right. On the left is the sun, peaking thru the city buildings. On the right is, as you thought, a reflection of the rising sun. Thx for commenting.
