Hello respected FMers,

I want to know how to tell the difference between versions of the Elmarit-R 19mm.

Specifically, how to tell if a lens is the second or first optical version.

Serial no's?

pictures of lens?

Is the 3-cam lens first or second formula, or does it exist in both formulations?

I'm confused as all heck!

Hi,

The two versions are very different. The first version has a big front element that is wider than the rest of the lens, and takes 82mm filters. The second version of the lens has a front element the same size and the barrel of the lens, has built in filters. I hope this helps.
