But I think I might be outgrowing it this year. Any one else have something that can carry 4 strobes, 4 big reflectors and various other stuff (cords, etc...)?

Matt, this works for me. I've been looking at the Pelican cases but a little pricey...and I know you get what you pay for but I think this would be an ideal case for what I need...and I could get two for the price of one Pelican. I'll have to take a trip to Sears today and see.

Frank,
Yeah I do love the case, but this year I will be using 4 strobes instead of 2 and I just don't have the space for it. Especially with the 4 new reflectors from AB that look to be larger.
My suggestion will be to get some quarter inch to inch foam padding for the bottom and sides to protect the gear.
I do love it though, cheap but it took care of me last year. Much easier then lugging around a huge bag around your shoulder
Then all that rides in the back of semi - 6-15ft usually.
Yes, it all costs money - but its worth having the gear get to a destination and working. Then when at the venue, before and after the event, its worth the extra $$ up front to have setup and teardown take as little time as possible. It's during these times, the gear is not making money but costing money in staff and time. By making it goes as quick as possible, we're saving money in the long run... easily.
I like that thing....Now I just need the case to carry it...looking around I should be able to get something for pretty cheap that won't cost me an arm.

Matthew I use a couple of rubbermaid containers similar to the size of the sears one you show. They don't have wheels, but I have a multi-cart R8 and love it. It has come in useful many ways besides just lugging the lighting gear.

The 1650... it just doesn't seem big enough to hold 4 strobes, 4 big reflectors and other stuff?
It's what I have 6x Alien Bees and 6x umbrellas, along with all the cords needed to run them. Granted, the stands I have just barely fit in there diagonally - if I have nothing else inside - so they just ride on the outside, strapped to the case.
I haven't freed up any of my 1660's yet to consolidate it all - but it's too rare that I ever need my studio gear (like twice a year), so the 1650 works.

Hammy that is an impressive set up. You are definitely world class. Geez...then you must need a warehouse to store it all in.

Frank - yes, we have two warehouse bays, 1000sq ft each. One is used for manufacturing of those cases, the other is half office space and half used for all the gear that goes on the road. We only house it about 6 months a year, though - as the other 6 months it stays on a semi going nationwide: http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll83/UTHammy/event/schedule.jpg

Well just so everyone knows I decided to go with the Pelican 1650 w/dividers as my case for this year and beyond.
I think the major reason why I selected this is because this case is warrantied for life. Plus it is big enough to handle anything I have at this point and probably for a few years.
Plus if I were to ever travel and wanted/needed to take my lighting gear or camera gear, this is the thing to have.
In the end it cost me 350 with shipping from Adorama.
