p.1 #1 · Lowel ID light - grip?

Just bought my first video light and trying to figure out how to attach it to either a monopod or something similar to make a lightstick

What do you guys use as grips or light sticks?

Cheers
Paul

You could just screw a stud adapter onto the monopod's camera mount, then attach the light to that...that's what I'll do. I think this is the right part:

that, or if you have a quick release plate on the monopod, screw a camera plate onto the light or the stud adapter for quick on and off.

I use this:

plus this:

And it rocks. The Shur-Line pole is REALLY nice, and so much better than a monopod. It extends very quickly and easily. There are two size available, I use the small one.

I use my bogen nano when shoot alone - the weight of the battery supports it nicely

Otherwise I use an assistant, groomsmen, wedding guest

Its not often I need real height for it so I dont both with a monopod. The head is perfecly grippable with only the lightstand attachment.

I also modified my id light iself so all the electronics are in a box halfway down the cable, so when the light is high and I need less power, I turn a dial I added. Also protects the gear when its raining. (the unit fell into the pool on, and pulled it out still working. Still working to this day)

Oh and I added a fuse to the battery pack/s which I split from its original 5kg sucker.

I hope you bought barndoors for it. I find a full CTO gel works great with a flash and VL combo. The VL for a quick rimlight and flash to freeze them for when I drag the shutter to soak in ambient.
