Recently I purchased a Nikon 24mm 2.8 AF-D at B&H. Long story short, I ended up having to return the lens. I am absolutely impressed with how well B&H handled the whole return process though! There was no hassle, no delays, and they even sent me notification during each step of the process (without me even having to ask). I don't think I have ever dealt with a company as efficient as B&H!
I have dealt with other companies which were perfectly ok when it came time to buy something, but when it came time to return something or speak with customer support they were seriously lacking. Imo, the proof of a good company is not in how much they sell or how low their prices are, but in how well they deal with the customer when a problem occurs with the product he or she purchased. Once again B&H proves to be a class act, a true cut above the rest!
While I was a bit bummed out about having to return the 24 (I really was looking forward to using it as my daily all-around lens), I was so impressed with the return process that it reassured me that there are still honorable companies left in the world.
Speaking of good service, Amazon UK as well as Ebuyer UK are on my list, to name a few. I've used them for the past four years or so and their service is impeccable from returns to exchanges etc. Kudos to BH.
What was the reason for the return if you don't mind me asking?
Yes they are good on returns. did you do the return from your account or over the phone? I did a return from my account by clicking the return link and they emailed me a paid return shipping label. Very cool.

went through two Sigma 150 2.8 with them,, both times they sent a prepaid UPS label for the return,, have been buying from them for many years,, they started in 1973 and grown considerable,, many companies would like to have had equal results,,
there are times their packaging could be a tad more improved,,

The 24 I got was acting funny; it was over exposing by one stop. I compared it to my manual focus 24mm 2.8 AIS, 17-55mm 2.8 AF-S (at 24mm), and 35mm 2.0 AF-D on my D200 and D1X. I also noticed that the focusing was a bit off (seemed to be back-focusing) compared to the other lenses. My guess is that I probably got a bad copy. I was thinking about exchanging it for another one, but I decided to return it not knowing if these were inherent properties of this lens in general, or if I had simply gotten a bad copy. I posted images here a couple of weeks ago showing the problems I noticed with this lens.
I need an AF prime lens in this focal length, so I will either order another Nikon 24 or wait and see if another manufacturer comes out with something similar. Either way, I will order it from B&H!
Absolutely agree about the B&H return policy and customer service. That is unlike a certain 3 lettered "camera broker" based in Atlanta. They have taken 2-3 weeks to credit my card after a return....they must invest it for the $.98 interest.....
The more I do business over the net, the more I am preferring to strictly use B&H, it's as good as one can reasonably expect.....the others just aren't quite the same.
