Hey Gabe,
I think their natural facial expressions don't lend themselves to some of these poses. What I mean by this is that I kind of think they look sad in these... I'd prefer smiles and laughter.
I checked out the blog and there's some better expressions there, but overall I get more sadness than romance in this set I think.
#2 seems over processed with too much sharpening in the hair.
On 3, I see that concept often on fm, with the couple standing facing the camera, but it may be good to see them interact, even if it is limited (due to the visual wall between them).
i find it interesting that some see love and connection and others see sadness and loss....but that is what's great about "art"...we all see things differently.

thanks again everyone.
I for one don't think they look sad. Serious and sad are very different animals.
These are pretty good. I'm going to jump on the sad wagon here though, doesn't mean they're bad pictures though. I'd ditch the t/s in the holding hands shot in your blog. Really isn't needed IMO. My favorite is #1.
The shots are definitely technically great!
Their version of serious is very grievous looking to me too though. I actually got the feeling of losing a child by the way it looks like she's sad/angry and he's trying to comfort her.
I love the texture in the location of 3b and 1!
i guess it really depends on their personalities and how they interact, which you would know best. i think i see them as more "quiet" than "sad." have they seen any of them yet? do they like them?
but they're definitely interesting to look at. different from your typical e-sesh for sure!
