I think the first one has the most promise.
The empty beach in the middle of the day is unique these days
and could make a calender shot.
But I would straighten your horizon as its several degrees tilted.
I like them both! i like number 2 a lot more, but here is some C&C
# 1 lacks a defined subject, looks crooked, and the sand seems a little blown out. I would maybe move closer to the trees as well, as it seems like they would add to the picture if there were more of them in it. It really is a beautiful shot though. very peaceful without the people. If there was something in the sand though (not necessarily a person), i think it would add a lot to the photo.
# 2 is a really cool shot. I love the angle. the stairs are really interesting and i like the way they twist around. I would darken the sand and boards of the stairs/walkway a little bit (actually, it may just be my monitor (same with number 1), so if it looks good on yours/other peoples, then keep it how it is). The only other thing that bothers me is that there is too much sky in the photo for my liking. i dont know if there is anything worth adding to the photo that would come from pointing the camera down, so maybe crop some off of the sky (3/4 to 1/2 is my guess) and see how it looks.
overall, i like them! if my C&C sounds harsh, please dont take it that way, they are great on their own just pointing out what i think could make them a little better! where in Mexico is number 1 shot?
I stayed in tulum for just 3-4 days, but had a great time staying in a hostel just across the street from pic #1. After that, I went throughout belize and guatemala for 3 weeks.
