Thank you Lil and believe it or not, the eagle in this post is the male (banded X59 in 1996) and to the best of my knowledge is still around but with a different mate as I am sure after searching for almost 5 years for the two of them I could only find him twice and with a younger female in 2004. I am sure his original mate (banded N70 also in 1996) was never seen again and is dead. Their nest failed this year.But to cheer you up the State of New York had hit the 200 nesting pairs this year.
