p.1 #1 · Photoshop Question

When saving an image in PS and the jpg quality option appears, how do you set it so that it stays at 12? Its defaulting at 7 and I'm editing several hundred photos from a wedding so I'd like it to stay at 12 so I don't have to adjust it with each photo. It used to do this but now its going to 7.

Thanks,
Doug

You could create an action in photoshop to do this if you are applying some of the same steps to numerous images.

I didn't think about creating an action. Thanks. Any idea why it would start defaulting to 7 instead of 12?

"...defaulting to 7?" 7 what? Suggest you refer such a query to an Adobe forum versus here.

Some of us don't need a map a pictogram to know what you're talking about..
I know what you mean..It happens to me too but then returns to 12High Quality.
I think it has sokmething to do with what you last saved...
I don't know the exact fix for it..but I know it usually returns to 12 after a few PSworkflows with saving at 12.

Yeah, Doug, I agree with Nektario-- we don't need no stinking smeared-inkblot image to understand you. This place is as good as any on FM to post your question. Normally, anyone who doesn't possess the basic knowledge (or generosity, people skills, etc) to be able to help answer your question wouldn't post here.

Photoshop usually will default to your last saved jpeg quality level. In other words, it doesn't matter if you saved twenty jpegs in a row at quality level 12. As soon as you used a level other than the 12, the next jpeg you go to save would then default to that new level. As ilikelegs mentioned, I believe a short save action would solve your problem.

Good luck...
