The Camera Store in Calgary has had them in stock, but they sell as fast as they get them in.

The Camera Store also has them in stock for $9138 CDN..... I would much rather buy from The Camera Store than Vistek anyway...

It seems most people in Calgary feel the same way... TCS is always so crowded you can't move, and Vistek's two stores are like ghost towns. I'm surprised they're still in business out here.

I agree. The only reason I ever go to Vistek is to get my 120 film developed....

I will go against the grain.

I purchased a camera cleaning bulb from Henry's Downtown TO.

I used it lightly on my camera. Wow, theres a lot of junk in here. Used it more to get rid of the crud.

Wow, what a mess. It seems to be getting worse.

Take bulb to window. Give it a coupe shots. HOLLY SMOKES. The bulb was FULL of rubber crap.

My camera started with a dust spec on the sensor, ONE, and ended up with tens of thousands sticky staticy rubber dust flecks in it.

Bring it back to Henry's, the best theyll do for me is refund my $10 for the bulb. They wont clean my camera.

Go to Vistek looking for a cleaner and the nice girl at the counter cleaned the entire inside of my camera for FREE after the bulb I bought at Henry's screwed it up royally. She was going to sell me a cleaning kit until she looked closely and said "forget it. It is going to cost you $200 in supplies to clean this disaster. Leave it with me and come back in 2 hrs".

That girl sold a bunch of future equipment to me that day.

It's good to hear that you have had a positive experience there in Toronto. I'm certainly not saying that all Vistek stores in Canada are bad. As with most stores, it usually depends on which location you visit and which staff member is helping you out... My personal experience (in Calgary) is that The Camera Store is hands down the best camera store in the city. Take care.

It all depends on who you get. Some of the folks at the new(er) Vistek location in Mississauga are fantastic. I've known Lan from back when he was at Henry's - and he's great. Very knowledgeable, and will set you up properly.

I'd just like to chime in and note that the Vistek store in Ottawa has been very helpful to me. Good people. They've been able to get hard-to-find supplies (mostly papers not typically stocked this side of the border) and lenses for me at very satisfying speed. The only thing I ever had to wait for was a Pentax Limited, which, at the time was out of stock all across Canada.

I've also bought stuff at the Henry's, mostly Sigma stuff which I can't get through Vistek. Both have been helpful to me repeatedly.

Photo Central in Winnipeg, Manitoba is selling a brand new D3x for an even amount of $8,000.00, that's Canadian dollars, which is approximately US $6,600.00. They listed that on that big auction site, BTW. I have no relation whatsover with them, I never even heard of them actually, I just came across their auction site with buy it now at that seemingly attractive price....

must be that they all decide to go at the same time you do. i've never found either to be especially busy.

Gosh, I was beginning to think there weren't any people behind the counter like this anymore.

Kudos to her and great to hear nice story for a change.

I hope that you got her name, and wrote a nice letter to the store praising her excellent customer service skills, too. Always brightens the day to get that kind of letter, and too infrequently done.

I did better.

I went downstairs, picked out a tripod and then told the manager that I was buying it because of her excellent service.
