p.1 #1 · Rokkor M42 mount?

I've seen some have their rokkors converted to M42 mount. Where did you get the M42 mount from? I did a search on ebay and found nothing about Something to M42 mount. They are all M42 to somthing mount.
I'd appreciate if you could provide more info...
Thanks,
PDo

Buying cheap 28mm and or 35mm lens with M42 mount, you can find lot of cheap as a part of lot on free-bay...

Other path is getting T-mount or medium format adapter (M42 mount). This will be little difficult as those adapters are not flat.

Hi, PDo.

If you truly mean M42 mount, then they are having male external M42 threads as a lens back for their Minolta lenses. Maybe they are using the minolta lenses on M42 mount film cameras? Which ones?

I used a male M42 part once for a Canon FD lens conversion, but also had to use a M42-EOS adapter to fit it to a EOS camera. Double the adapter cost. If interested in the part let me know, but machining is involved.

But, to use the Minolta lens on a EOS camera, they have to purchase the standard M42-EOS adapter. This adapter is what alot of us use for our EOS conversions, regardless of brand as they have alot of "meat" on them for machining.

Hope this helps.

This lens does have a EOS mount, not M42. It is made of aluminum and does not come to infinity focus, according to the ad. Where's the value?

I've looked at my takumars and couldnt figure out how to extract their mounts without removing the fronts.
I now see a 50 1.2 rokkor - M42 for sale in B&S. That looks nice.

Jim,
I would stick with EOS but I also shoot Sony and occasionally Pentax films. It would be "perfect" that I can use the lenses as long as they are M42 mount.

OK, I understand now. The 2 part conversion I mentioned above, I used a part from a telescope vendor that costs about $30 dollars and it had a male M42 thread.

So, there are M42-Sony adapters?

Thanks, Jim. Now I remember the 135mm jupiter (Russian made) has the m42 mount removable. I'll check again when I get home.

Yes, there are M42-Sony (M42 to Minolta A-Mount). They are all over ebay and I have no problem so far. Infinity focus is fine. I prefer to use my takumars with the Sony since the Sony body has IS built-in. With the A-900, I think Sony is a dream platform for alternative lenses.
Up until now, I have to switch back and forth between EOS and A-Mount for the rokkors depending on which body I use but it is pretty inconvenient.
