I need some input here from savvy FM'ers. I sold several lenses on the B/S a few weeks back everything seemed to be fine. The other day I receive an e-mail from Paypal the service I used for each transaction as follows:
"We were recently notified that a payment you received was reversed by the buyer’s bank. A bank reversal can be requested by the bank itself or the bank account holder.
We have placed a temporary hold on the funds until our inquiry is complete"
Now no name has been given but I've got a bit of an inkling who it is.
Today I get an e-mail from someone asking me about one of the lenses saying someone contacted them "cold" and asked if they were interested in this lens..one of the ones bought a few weeks ago from me. Turns out this person's username is the very one I'm thinking of.
Feels like i'm going to get the shaft here...person buys lens does not have funds he sells quickly so i cannot follow trail?
That's odd that Paypal didnt tell you what transaction was reversed. You may want to call their support number to find out. I remember I had a transaction reversed years ago (buyer paid with a stolen account) and paypal actually called me to warn me. I don't think they do that anymore...
Paypal has certain seller protection policies that can help safeguard you from buyer chargebacks. Did you send the package to a confirmed shipping address and request a signature? It's also a good idea to make sure your buyers have verified accounts as well.
