I like the idea a lot. Two things I noticed though. The image appears a little bit underexposed. It is also a shame that the brightest leaf is cut off. That leaf would make a super main object but it would have to be placed better.

I agree with Ute, the idea here is really nice, but definately adjust the curves on this and get it to brighten up a bit. The hard thing I have found on shots like this is to find which to really focus on and to use as a focal point. I don't quite see that here. Not sure what you had to play with, but there is a large face up red leaf in the lower left. Having that be a little more central in the shot would make a good focal point for the viewers eyes to wander to.
