These are interesting images. I couldn't resist stopping after a very long day of shooting farther south and grab the moonlight. I'm curious if the image works better with the dock or without the dock in the foreground. The shot of the walkway and telescopes was a last minute whimsy, and I wish I could have had more people walking around to make ghostly figures. I would have done it myself but it was so windy I had to shelter my tripod.
I like the dock in #1, just not so bright. In #3, that is a pretty cool shot, though I wish the telescope didn't line up directly with the bottom of the bridge. I would have moved it so that the bridge was just in between those first 2 telescopes.
That's a good idea, Jim, about the telescopes. And one that I'll have an opportunity to work on within the next few weeks. There may be a problem of space, i.e.
I'm backed up against a wall there, nowhere farther back to move, and if I move to the right, I lose the linear effect of looking along the row of scopes. But I'll bet i can figure it out. I'll do an edit of the dock, tone it down a bit, and post it. I love FM's new multiple edit utility!.
Jim, I took down the brightness of the dock (now image 3) as much as I could. There are clipped whites that won't go anywhere, but I think it enhanced the color of the dock, making it slightly less obtrusive. again, thanks, your ideas are excellent!
