Any pp noise reduction? Also why iso 1600 and 1/2000? Nice shot.

Sean,

Yup a little more DOF would have been great.
Looks like you focuses on the feathers above the eyes > And those feathers are quite sharp.

cute looking bird and it could have been a contender with a lot more DOF
Still a darn cute shot and you'll remember DOF next time
There's always a next time and a next bird.

thanks for sharing your bird and look forward to your next one at F/11 or so depending on working distance

Thanks.

No, no NR in PP. But it was set to "strong" NR in-camera. Which if I get it, I think you can still adjust sliders for in DPP?

I'm forced to go back and learn DPP to convert, because my two other programs can't read the the new 50D RAW files. Grrrrr.

I was hiking around the island and had come out of the shady woods were I needed the higher ISO of 1600, and accidentally left it high once back out out in the open with this guy. I could have afforded lower iso and f11 or more for less noise and deeper DOF.

Thanks!
Sean

Thanks Ant. Yeah, this was my first time with the 1.4 TC also. Which narrows the DOf even more. I have to be more on top of the settings I'm getting to optimize for the situation.

I should take a class in the PP part, too, I've just been wingin it -to eye.
