If you are looking on the eternal thread: UV vs hood...this is not the good thread
I used a B+W Kaesemann Circular Polarizer on my Canon 10-22...when it gets cold (under ~45F) the filter is stuck on the lens...I need to wait that it becomes hot (~75F) for him to be removed. I guess plastic and aluminium (or whatever metal alloy used on the filter) have a different temperature expansion ratio...Have you ever experienced this? If so do you get a "magic" solution (since it is a CPL it is difficult to grab the right portion and unscrew).
As said a rubberband in your bag, if you really want to, they have wrenches for this. The B+W is brass, just remember to screw it on until it stops and don't tighten any after that.
rubber band
>>> it did not work since the rubber band was turnig the polarizer not the filter....since this problem I ALWAYS have rubber band in my camrea bag
B+W is brass....remember to screw it on until it stops
>>> Thanks for your comment. Since I am not an expert in material...could you extrapolate why shouldn't I tighten brass?
I'm not saying leave it loose, all it needs is to come to the end of the cycle screwing it on and then give it a ever so slight finish. As you said it gets tighter on it's own.
I was just with a group where two people couldn't get there's off. I was able to do with just my fingers. You have to grab the filter with the very tips of your fingers w/o grabbing the the polarizer front.
