p.1 #1 · Canon (1ds Mark II)

Hello All!!!

I finally got my first canon! I pre-ordered the 5d Mark II and jumped ship from another brand to wait for it but it looks like it will take longer than I thought. I had 3 L lenses staring at me in my living room for the last week or so but luckily I won a great priced ebay auction for a 1ds mark II !!!!!

Are there any tips that any other 1ds II owners can give me? Such as what iso can it push in certain situations. What weird things you have found with handling etc.

Thanks!!!

I've only had mine for a couple of months but from a very early test even ISO 3200 could be considered "usable".

Exactly as shot, auto WB, flourescent lighting, and hand held.

Another question. I come from SD cards so don't know much about compact flash. When they say the 1ds Mk II doesn't support UDMA what does that mean? Can I get sandisk Extreme 8gb cards?

You can use UDMA cards, but you won't get the performance boost UDMA offers. The card will still be fast, just not as fast as with a camera that supports UDMA.

A weird thing happened to me when I got mine a short while ago. ALL of my other cameras just disappeared. I mean, vanished. Haven't seen them since I opened the box on this beauty....
