Before the Nikon bodies had the fastest write speed to the memory cards. But after checking R.G. updated CF/SD Performance Database site, I can see that both the new Canon & Sony camera's are faster.
The 50D is more than twice as fast as the 1D3

does that mean you will have to add some faster cards to the couple of terabites that was in the box I saw in the other foum?

It's not valid for the 5D2. But when it arrives I would expect it to be fast also. Especially compared to the 5D

I have used many UDMA cards. They are like all other cards, some are fast and some slower. Some are expensive and some has very low price. But they are all a little bit better when used in a camera that support UDMA cards.
