I had a shoot last night with my 80-200 2.8L lens and the zoom ring keeps sticking at 80mm and I have to literally force it to zoom now. I went home and reviewed the photos and something is seriously wrong with lens...several photos are out of focus and these were shot in studio at f13. I have never had this kind of issue with my magic drainpipe before...It's worked solid for me for over 2 years now.
So, can anyone suggest a place to send it in for repairs...I know parts may be scarce, but thought I should at least try and salvage it if possible.
Canon MIGHT be able to service the lens, if it doesn't require parts. Parts for this lens are in very short supply, but Canon might be able to fix it if it only requires cleaning and lubrication or something like that.
I know that sucks...the drainpipe is such a good lens, but unfortunately, it's been out of production for so long now that repair is the only real issue with owning one.
