p.1 #1 · Canon XTi & Vivitar 90-230mm? | |
I was just given a Canon AE-1 film camera, along with a flash unit (has corroded batteries, so I'm guessing it's no good), a small Canon lense that doesn't appear to be in working condition, and a big zoom lense. The latter is marked as: "No. 3701103 Auto Vivitar tele-zoom 90-230 mm 1:4.5"
I'm pretty new to the DSLR world and know I'm showing my ignorance, but is it possible (or even worth the trouble) to try to get the zoom lense to work with my Canon XTi? I don't really know what all to look for, but it *seems* to be in working condition - all the rings are turning and when I put it on the AE-1 and look through the viewfinder I can zoom in and out and focus.
The mounts are quite different, so I'd need some kind of adapter. Is such even available, or would I be better off saving the money and trouble and just getting a new zoom lense once I can afford it?
Any helpful advice you can give this newbie would be much appreciated.
