p.1 #1 · Wild or Domestic? revisited

This is another photo from the San Diego Wild Animal Park. This is an excellent and easy way to see the lions up close.

Comments & critiques welcome.
Overprocessed? I little too unnatural?
I should probably just get a lensbaby, but the focal length isn't this long.

I hope to get this close on our upcoming Tanzania/Kenya safari. I can't wait to see them in the wild!

Incredible---In color , that image would be just another snapshot--completely run-of-the-mill.

But somehow you have removed all the color and in so doing you have transformed it in to a fabulous work of art!!

It is extremely rare you will hear JB say anything nice about a BW nature photo -feel honored!

Well done!

Very nice. The conversion to BW works very well here.

I think I'd crop it a bit tighter on both sides...
But it's a nice shot anyway

Thanks for the comments.

I like the cropping idea, thanks mercapto. I've attached the new crop below as well as the original photo for reference.

Like John said, very run-of-the-mill when shot, but I saw some potential for a b&w when I first looked at the series. It took me a long time to getting back to working on it.

I'm relatively new to the forum, but have gained some great insight. Thanks, everyone.
