nice composition; interesting that the focus of each thistle is different . . better or worse?

I like it. Very odd bokeh, though.

Judging by the circular bokeh, I'd say the lens was very close to wide open, hence a narrow DOF. Definately an 8 blade aperture.

70-200 f2.8 IS at f4 Whats weird bout it Seth - it looks perfect to me? I added film grain here, is that what you mean?

I think Seth may be talking about the mix of lines and highlights within the bokeh (the nice round spots of light). I like it, although the highlights can get a little distracting within an otherwise smooth bokeh. good conversion as well.

Yep, that's what I meant.

Ok. I think the "lines" are other grass strands since they don't appear in any other images with this lens. Also the drops here are backlight water drops so there is probably some diffraction going on as the backlight passes through the droplets themselves to the lens, no? Thanks.

Love the composition/conversion and bokeh. I think the circular areas really help to make this image, with thistle "arms" upstretched to the "droplets". I dont like the noise/grain, however.
