I never even considered using my 70-300vr with a teleconverter. I guess that Sigma does a fine job from what I'm seeing. Good to know there are TC's out there compatible. Maybe I'll have to check that out. I assume you lose the autofocus however no?

It works great.

AF will works when the light is good, maybe a little hunting. Don't be shy, try.

WOW! Now maybe I will stop being in doubt whether I should buy the 70-300 VR or not. It seems to be great!

Thank you Joe. Simple PP in NX2: using Raymond's curve #1 with Sharpening at 6 and Autocontrast in LCH.

Falconbach: for the price it is probably the best piece of glass you will ever have. I don't miss my 70-200VR f/2.8 anymore (almost)

John - That's a great image. The background colors complement the wins on the butterflies so well. I have this lens and agree that it is a bargain for what you get with it. I also think another underrated steal is Nikon's 28-200 G lens.
