I agree with alan, I didn't care for the toning, and as for eye contact... I was almost expecting to see him looking at a wand as if (ok, now how do I use this thing)...
I appreciate the honest feedback. Personally, I liked the toning. What makes a tone appropriate? I acknowledge that the answer to this question is as varied as the different forms of photography! Rarely do I tone my pictures because I have yet to find a solution that works for me or is well received.
The hardest part was keeping this little guy in the frame. He moved all over the place! My other images are in color.

I like to think that he is contemplating how to turn the photographer into a toad!
