I have a tough time with these also. I find it best to shoot them in soft light. Sometimes a polarizer helps if they sit still long enough. I like the last crow the best, nice expression.
Cool shots Roger! unlike others I prefer them in harsh light! I like how their feathers shine and reflect the light, thus I choose #2 as fav.
You can see the sky reflecting back from its feathers! cool
Crows and Ravens are very difficult to shoot and must have great light. You did very well and details are great here. I think shooting black birds are harder than white ones. Exposures are wonderful.

I got me a few polarizers and have never even tried them. Gooood idea.
Great job carrying the detail in the eye area Roger. I find these all done very nicely, the details from the head down thru the chest feathers are great
