p.1 #1 · Gulls?

My alligator shot got nothing, maybe these tiny little birdies will get a comment? Anyway, caught these guys down in Miami, maybe some can tell me what they are? Some type of gull?

Killdeers, OK thank you very much. I don't shoot much in the way of wildlife, so I appreciate your help.

Loud, loud killdeers.

Nice one though, they don't like to get too close to me.

Fast, loud, and great looking birds. Interesing habits of these birds as they will mimick injury to draw you away from the nest that is normally well camo'd on the ground.

The broken-wing act used to lead predators from the nest would not keep a cow or horse from stepping on the eggs. To guard against large hoofed animals, the Killdeer uses a quite different display, fluffing itself up, displaying its tail over its head, and running at the beast to attempt to make it change its path.

Hope you get more of these elusive ones.
