p.1 #1 · Cold Coffee.................(9)

A couple of weeks ago, on two successive mornings, while having my morning pot of coffee at the kitchen window, I was interrupted by a couple of visitors in the backyard. The first morning, it was 28 degrees, a Coyote was investigating the bird feeder area. I wasn't really dressed for the occasion, but I got fairly close to him before he took off, guess he had never seen a guy in a pair of boxers with a 500mm on a bushhawk. The second morning, there was no breeze and the pond surface was smooth as glass, providing great reflections.... I had jeans on that morning. Here are a few I took before I returned to my "cold coffee".

Okay Doug, I can't get the image of you/someone chasing a coyote in your boxers with a bushhawk!! Great shots of all around here, coyote, hawk and nice work the reflections of the deer. I could tolerate cold coffee for this stuff. Nice work!!

Doug, I'll trade you a truckload of the best hot or iced coffee you've ever had for your backyard. Wow, the coyote captures are great, the deer captures are beautiful. Even a Redtail! Wow...

Great work Doug!! Love the action poses on the canine (man, they grow FAT back there. Compared to the skinny desert dogs I'm familiar with, that one is a cow). Beautiful reflection shots too.

Doug,

This is be a great post as long as I can block the scary visual you planted out of my brain. Trust me folks the visual is worse if you've seen Doug in person Sorry - couldn't resist. Don't be surprised if Bravo drops in on this one - opps he beat me to the punch and posted when I was typing. He took it easy on you

Seriously nice work. The colors and reflections of the deer, the detail in the RTH and the Coyote shots - all of it really works!

Looking forward to some Horicon shots soon...

Brian

Great shots Doug - especially the first three of the coyote in flight. Of course, I'd be airborne like that too if I saw you coming at me in your homer simpson boxer shorts wielding a 500 on a bushhawk

Thanks Tim. Just shake your head real hard a couple of times and hopefully that image will disappear! I was charging the battery for my camera when I first saw the coyote, so by the time I put the battery back, I knew a trip upstairs was out of the question.

Thank you Maggie. I am pretty lucky, I am not far from a lot of woods and farm land, so there are a lot of visitors that pass through all the time. You can still bring the coffee...I'll even get dressed.

Thanks John. There are a couple of coyotes hanging around here and they both look very healthy, kind of surprising after the hard winter we had. I still know where they can get a couple of more rabbits.

Thanks Brian. He wouldn't say anything would he? I'm going through Horicon shots now, I'll try and post some of them a little later.

Thank Nello. I didn't give up on my coffee, the first pot was almost gone, plus they showed up early. And I'm not buying that last sentence for a second!
